The rules of the road.

These terms govern your use of trace-ai.ca. They do not govern commercial engagements with us — those are covered by individual statements of work and master service agreements.

The short version

This site is provided as-is. You can read it, link to it, quote short passages with attribution, and submit a contact form. You can't scrape it for AI training data, republish whole posts without permission, or claim our brand as your own. Commercial work with us is governed separately by a written agreement.

1. Definitions

"We", "us", "our" refers to Trace-AI Inc., an Ontario-incorporated engineering studio.
"Site" refers to trace-ai.ca and all its pages.
"Content" refers to text, code samples, designs, images, logos, and visual elements published on the Site.

2. Acceptable use

You may:

  • View, read and link to any public page on the Site.
  • Quote short passages (under 200 words) for non-commercial purposes with attribution to Trace-AI Inc. and a link back to the original page.
  • Use code snippets shown in our engineering posts in your own projects — those are intentionally illustrative.
  • Submit accurate information through the contact form.

You may not:

  • Scrape, crawl, or programmatically harvest the Site's content beyond what's permitted by our robots.txt. This includes use for training machine-learning models without our prior written permission.
  • Republish full posts, case studies, or pages without our written permission.
  • Use our brand, marks, lockups or wordmarks in any context that suggests endorsement, partnership, or employment that does not exist.
  • Submit false or misleading information through any form on the Site.
  • Attempt to interfere with the Site's operation — including but not limited to DDoS, brute-force probing, or exploitation of known vulnerabilities in our hosting stack.
  • Use the Site or its content for any unlawful purpose.

3. Intellectual property

All Content on the Site is © Trace-AI Inc. except where explicitly attributed otherwise. The signal-pulse mark, wordmark, and TRACE/AI lockup are property of Trace-AI Inc. Engineering posts may be cited for fair-use commentary (criticism, review, education) with attribution.

Where we describe client work, the client retains all rights to their own brand, product names, and proprietary data. Trace-AI retains rights to architecture diagrams, code patterns and approaches we developed.

4. Third-party content

The Site links to external resources (e.g. vendor documentation, third-party tools). Those links do not imply endorsement, and we are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of external pages.

5. No warranty

The Site and its content are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

The engineering content (posts, case studies, architecture diagrams) describes approaches we have used in specific contexts. It is not professional advice. Do not implement it on a regulated or production system without independent technical and legal review.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trace-AI Inc. is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Ontario or Canadian law.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Site you consent to the practices described there.

8. Engagement terms

Any commercial engagement with Trace-AI — discovery sprints, platform builds, integrations, ongoing operations — is governed by a separate, written Statement of Work and Master Service Agreement, not by these Terms of Use.

Pricing, response times, and engagement details mentioned on the Site are indicative only and do not constitute a binding offer.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under these terms shall be heard by the courts of Ontario.
